about

The Edge Of Night is equal parts a cohesive Long-Play and Concept Album of the cyberpunk variety. While not a direct successor, The Edge Of Night picks up where I left off with Mile High Dragon in many ways, in the sense that it plays out like a pseudo-score or soundtrack of sorts. This won't matter to the general listener but these tracks were made less with the intent of being actual songs and more just extended themes and/or background music for my writing. In that respect, this collection is very personal and close to my heart, but it stands on its own as an album for you.

Since this is technically a concept album, for your listening pleasure, I went ahead and constructed a vague narrative for the album. There are brief story excerpts in the "about"/ "info" section for each individual track, so click on the track and take a gander if you like. Hopefully these short fragments will provide some additional context and enhance your experience.

Sonically, The Edge Of Night also pulls on many inspirations and influences of mine; be it musical, cinematic, animation, or video game related. Despite its largely consistent sound, the album draws on a wide variety of popular music acts like Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Propaganda, Yello, The Pet Shop Boys, Phil Collins, Whitesnake, and more. Many, many acts came in and out of focus during the production of this album. The Edge Of Night also draws on the work of composers such as Vangelis, Kenji Kawai, Shinji Hosoe, Tsukasa Masuko, Raito, and Ennio Morricone, among others. I can't hold a candle to any of them but their influence is worth noting.

Enjoy.
